Will the RDOS be ‘LACING UP THEIR DANCING SHOES’?

By Kyle Bauer

The site will return to full activity later today with the reemergence of “Real Deal on Headlines” to catch up on all the sports news that I have failed to cover in the past few days.

I also plan on introducing a new feature that I am hoping you guys will enjoy later this week, likely on Friday.

Until then, it is a big day for the RDOS intermediate family. As most of you know, we reside out of Oakland University and they will be playing for a chance to ‘PUNCH THEIR TICKET’ to ‘THE BIG DANCE’ against IUPUI (Indiana University of Pennsylvania Unified Intelligence?) tonight.

You can tune in to 88.3fm Auburn Hills if you are if you are north of M-59 from Chesterfield Township to Metamora, which includes Romeo, Lake Orion, Rochester, Utica, Auburn Hills and Pontiac. Or if you are by a computer, take the sure route and go to www.wxou.org where you can stream the coverage live. I will be hosting a pre-game show from 8 to 9pm, featuring an interview with Neal to open up at 8:05.

You can also go back to 88.3fm/wxou.org for your half-time and post-game coverage, where I will also be anchoring.

Neal will be on 1130am WDFN Detroit Sports Talk giving color commentary with Mario Impemba on the call. So listen to him on WDFN and listen to good ol’ Avocado on WXOU for your pre, half and post-game coverage of the Summit League tournament final and see if Oakland will be ‘DANCING’.

As far as Mikey P. goes, I believe he will be working and chowing down at Sign of the Beef Carver.

The Real Deal on Headlines

By Kyle Bauer

That is a very stupid title to a new feature on the site that is going to rotate between Neal and I but more times than not, it will be me.
Were going to recap some of the more interesting sports stories in the news over the past couple days, surmised in a paragraph or two.

Silverdome has been sold…WAIT! NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Canadian real-estate group had won the auction to buy the Pontiac Silverdome with a paltry bid of $580,000. These Canadian heroes appeared to have a goal not too far off from the Real Deal on Sports plan with the dome; refurbishing it and landing an MLS franchise. I have never been an MLS fan but if they put a team in the Silverdome and bring back the curtain, I will buy season tickets!

Unfortunately the Devil, disguised as a group called “Silver Stallion Development” is blocking the sale. Lucifer claims that he originally made an offer to buy the property for 20 million dollars but negotiations broke down due to “racial discrimination.” My question for Satan would be “Uh Satan if negotiations allegedly broke down, wouldn’t that mean a contract was never signed. If a contract was never signed, how could it be breached?” So there Satan, you bitch. You can not go ahead and build your shitty over priced condos, that you’ll call “The Glens” that no one will buy because they don’t want to pay the mark-up on a man-made-lake.

                                    VS.

We are close to the dome still being home folks! It looks like once again, Canada may have saved the United States.

Rick Porcello DOES NOT win rookie of the year.
This is a joke right? Seriously???

Uhhhh ok fine, I don’t know how a 20 year old that went 14-9, with a sub-four era., that started and pitched effectively in a one-game playoff on the road, doesn’t win rookie of the year.

Way to go writers! Give it to Andrew Bailey, a freaking closer on a last place team. Having seen Bailey pitch a couple times, off the eye ball test, I see no way how he could be given the award over Porcello. More so, the circumstances Porcello was thrown into and pitched under was what gave it to him in my mind.

Apologies also go to Elvis Andrus of the Rangers and his .329 obp, which got more votes than Porcello. How many slap sportswriters who stopped caring years ago, voted for him just because his name is Elvis. OH HOW SILLY ‘ELVIS!!!!!!!!’ DURRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Dwayne Bowe Suspended; Also Bloated
Kansas City Wide Receiver Dwayne Bowe has disappointed me in many ways this season. Though I didn’t get him in my fantasy draft, I touted him as a top receiver, hidden on a bad team. I also didn’t think he would be hidden for long because despite Todd Haley, Larry Johnson and the loss of Tony Gonzales, I actually thought the Chiefs were going to be a team contending for the AFC West. WRONG.
Bowe was suspended four games for using a diuretic.

For those of you who are not familiar with a diuretics purpose, it is usually what women use to relieve water weight from bloating when on their period. First Manny uses fertility drugs, now Dwayne Bowe cant fit into his jeans for one week out of the month.
Professional sports is in great shape right now!

Dick Jauron first NFL coach of many to be fired
The 3-6 Buffalo Bills let Dick Jauron go today. Of course the NFLs horrible product which suffers from lack of focus and execution is going to fall on the coaches. That’s fair to me though, because you cant really fire the players.

Jauron may have simply been let go because of the week 5 loss to the Browns, when Buffalo fell to Derek Anderson and his mighty 20 yards passing. I would had fired someone after that. Hell, just randomly picked a name out of a hat, I wouldn’t care, just as long as someone was fired.

This is relevant to the Detroit sports fan because Jauron, interim or not, was the only former Lions head coach to find work as a head coach after leaving Detroit. A job as a defensive line coach is awaiting you somewhere Dick, just come into the liiiiiiiiiight!

It would be too easy to comment on his appearence.

Real Deal on Sports in the Oakland Post

Alexis Tomrell gave us a nice little write up in the Oakland Post.

“….Kyle Bauer and Neal Ruhl want to buy the Pontiac Silverdome. To them, this massive business venture is merely a hobby; a side project to their first love: hosting WXOU’s ‘Real Deal on Sports.’

The live show, which airs Thursdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., had its official start in April 2008.

The two hosts had been working together since 2007, appearing on each other’s sport shows and working on various projects, until they decided to combine forces and co-host ‘Real Deal on Sports.’………..”
